Announcements

End of Spring...
The spring season is over. Thank you to everyone who got into a
stream this spring. And thanks to everyone who turned out for the
potluck, despite the threatening weather.
The summer season will begin on June 15 and end on August 15.
Certified monitors, I will be in touch to let you know if you should
monitor your site this summer.

Summer workshops: mark your calendars...

*Introductory Training Workshop*
Saturday August 17, from 10am - 3pm
This workshop will cover the fundamentals of stream biological
sampling - catching and identifying aquatic invertebrates for the
purpose of evaluating water quality and stream health. The workshop is
free, but class size is limited. To reserve a space, or for further
information about volunteering, contact Rose.

*StreamWatch Advanced training*
Sunday August 29, from 1pm - 4pm
Refresh you identification skills and learn more about family
identification. We'll cover all levels of experience, so beginners
are welcome too (in order to attend, you must have already attended an
introductory training workshop). To reserve a space, contact Rose.

StreamWatch Quick Guide to families...
We have a new tool for you. Thanks to Bob for helping to develop
this. We hope that this will be especially useful for certified
monitors, but everyone is welcome to use it. You can download the PDF
from our website: http://streamwatch.org/volunteers/forms-and-
documents. Take it along the next time you are sampling. You may even
decide to print it double-sided on card stock and laminate it for use
at your stream! Feedback is welcome - if you think of anything that
would make this even better, please contact Rose.

May anniversaries...
Congratulations to the following volunteers, whose volunteer
anniversaries are this month. Thanks so much for your work.
Dav Banks - 6 years
Vicki	Metcalf - 3 years
